We still have a couple of weeks to go before the press arrives. I really felt like printmaking today so I decided to give my Japanese baren a try. Here we are with a lo-fi monotype made with water based ink on phone book paper. I mixed black and yellow ink, and using a brayer, spread the ink out on glass. I inked a piece of cheese cloth, and made several different impressions by moving it around on the paper. Pressure was applied by using a Japanese baren.
Torso (Monotype), 2008. A monotype stencil on phone book paper, 5×7 inches.
