RSSMy studio in Ranchos is really coming together. I was able to utilize some very old plantation shutters that I brought with me from my old house in Jerome. They fit perfectly in the bank of windows in the studio. Our friend Jerry, a talented furniture maker in Questa, is building the table for my etching press. It will be much lighter than ones normally built for presses, but just as strong. I’m not all that fond of the color pink, but when Jerry asked me what color stain I wanted, I couldn’t resist, asking him if he had pink. So the table for the etching press will have pink legs. I’m actively looking for a plate burner. I’m leaning toward the AmerGraph V28 which is a metal halide unit. I’m told I need a plate burner with a heavy duty vacuum pump because of our altitude here. When I get the plate burner, I will be passing along my UV exposure box, the unit I’ve used for my platemaking, so if there are any alt process workers out there who want a UV box, drop me a line.
