Testing out the Uniframe

At Huberto’s recommendation, we stopped by Artisans art supply in Taos to pick up materials. They have a great selection of supplies there to include solar plates on steel and copper. I stocked up on etching inks, and bought a roll of Japanese Kozo paper for printmaking. While I was there, I rediscovered the Uniframe. The Uniframe comes as a kit and assembles easily. The kit contains metal clips, a spring, and string. It’s an intelligent design, and the cost was less than $6 per kit.

The mount, print, mat, and 1/8″ thick 11″x14″ UV plexiglass were sandwiched together to assemble the final framed piece. In this image the clips are barely around the edges of the glass. The reflection in the left corner is my hat. We had snow flurries today and the high was only 39 degrees. I bet the old vault in the back of the building could double as a fridge…
