Photograms in Gravure

October 14th, 2008 by laura | Filed under Laura Campbell Fine Art.

Last week marked the one year anniversary of my surgery and the end of a major illness.  I continue to sort through that experience reflecting on how my illness impacted me and what I want to create for myself now.  I had those feelings in mind when I made these two images last Sunday.

Both images are photograms made on KM plates.  They were exposed for 8 seconds each, baked in the UV box for 10 minutes, inked, and printed on Hahnemuhle 300 gsm paper.  The object used for the first image was cheese cloth.  I shaped it so it would look like a dress.  The object used for the second image was wire.  It was shaped to look like a figure.

It’s snowing in San Luis, Colorado, today and since I have a dentist appointment a half-hour away, I should probably sign off…

Signing off from San Luis….
