Badland on Cyanotype

July 19th, 2008 by laura | No Comments | Filed in Laura Campbell Fine Art

There’s a big thunderstorm coming in from the south this evening.  It looks like it’s passing over I-17 right now, about 20 miles east of here and is riding straight up the valley to Jerome.  Since it shaping up to be a dark and stormy night, I’ll show you what I did today.  This is a lens image made in Death Valley 7 years ago. It’s a square negative made with a TLR on Verichrome film developed in Pyro. The image was enlarged and contact printed on cotton sateen fabric using the New Cyanotype formula. It was exposed in a UV light box for 3 minutes 35 seconds, developed in vinegar, bleached in ammonia, then borax, toned in selenium, then tea.
