Farewell Arizona…
I probably won’t be posting much for the next three weeks as my house sold and I must pack and sort through my things. I have lots of varied and interesting things that I’ve held on to for years and I’m determined to leave many of those things here. I donated a bunch of books [...]

I highly recommend visiting Jeff Dilcher’s website hiddenworld.net, where you can see his pinhole photographs. Located in Georgia, Jeff presents an ethereal vision of the South. Badland on Cyanotype
There’s a big thunderstorm coming in from the south this evening. It looks like it’s passing over I-17 right now, about 20 miles east of here and is riding straight up the valley to Jerome. Since it shaping up to be a dark and stormy night, I’ll show you what I did today. This is [...]

Since I’m heading north this time, I got to thinking about the region and dug out the photos I made there with my old TLR (lens) camera. Here’s one of [...]

Today I finally made a print that I like of the joshua tree. This image was important to me because the joshua tree is my favorite tree. This was made on cotton sateen fabric and was given a 3 minute exposure in the UV light box. The print was developed in vinegar, bleached in ammonia, [...]
Zoneplate Portrait on Cyanotype
Today I printed a zoneplate portrait made last winter. The print was made on cotton sateen fabric and was exposed for 4 minutes. I developed the print in vinegar, bleached in borax, and toned in black tea. I like the way portraits look on cyanotype and could see myself making more of these.
Zoneplate portrait, cyanotype [...]Darwin street corner on cyanotype toned in gold

When everything was ready to go, I cut a print sheet off of one of my panel strips and printed an image made in darwin, calif. “street corner” was exposed for 3 minutes in the uv box followed by development [...]
