Lone Pine to Death Valley and Back Again

April 5th, 2008 by laura | Filed under Laura Campbell Fine Art.

Brrrr. It’s a bit chilly in the Eastern Sierra tonight where the frogs are singing and I’m putting my socks back on. I’ve just returned from a trip to Death Valley. It’s getting very hot below sea level at Furnace Creek. Temps were in the low 90′s and there was a lot of haze. On this trip I decided to approach composition a little differently by not using my tripod. I used rocks to prop up the camera and composed my photographs from the ground. Looking at Death Valley from a ground-level perspective provided a new view of the park for me.
