RSSPinhole Photo: Darwin Ghost Town Revisited
March 28th, 2008 by laura | Filed under Laura Campbell Fine Art.Today marked my third visit to Darwin. The town was very quiet when I arrived at high noon. The only sounds I heard were multiple explosions and Pierre whizzing around town in his Volkswagen bus. Pierre stopped on his third pass to invite me to check out his property. The explosions continued on and off for the two hours that I was in town.
The old car that I recorded is a Renault.
The funny thing about this car is all the chrome is in perfect condition, glinting proudly in the sun like a gold tooth.
These cool cabins sit behind the old Post Office which I photographed the other day.
A few days ago, an old fire truck was parked next to the tanker truck. The fire truck was moved. Perhaps it is on a call. The only sign that the fire truck was ever there was a huge oil spill slowly baking in the sun. More photos of Darwin are posted on my main photoblog: http://laura-campbell.net
