Pinhole Photo: Darwin Ghost Town
March 25th, 2008 by laura | Filed under Laura Campbell Fine Art.Today marked my second visit to Darwin. I love Darwin. It’s the kind of place that stimulates the imagination. Today’s daydream involved playing gorilla-golf on the outskirts of town with an iced coffee in one hand, and a cable release in the other. I had all kinds of problems with flare today. On my second photo subject, I discovered that about 1/2 the light coming through my pinhole was flare! It worked somewhat to my advantage as it added a certain flair to the image. The three I made today are among my favorites. Viva Darwin! La vita Dolce.
This is a street corner in Darwin. The building in the image is the old Post Office. The front of the PO was in shadow so I recorded the building from the side…

The small miner’s cabin was on the next block over from the old Post Office.

There’s a wonderful grove of Joshua Trees on the way to Darwin. The light toned round clusters on the top of the tree are blooms. Viva California!
