There was a high wind advisory today for the Owens Valley so I headed out to pinhole the dust on Owens (Dry) Lake. This image was taken on a dirt road that runs along the lakeside in a north-south direction. The white stuff that is airborne in front of the mountains is dust being kicked up by strong winds. The dust cloud was visible along the entire length of the dry lake.

Moving onto the Owens Lake bed, the next image provides a closer view of the environmental problem.
