Pinhole Photo: Death Valley Cabin

March 5th, 2008 by laura | No Comments | Filed in Laura Campbell Fine Art

Hoping to get out of the wind, we ventured over to Death Valley only to discover it was more windy there.

This photo was made with a pinhole camera somewhere west of Stovepipe Wells. I was too frustrated with the wind to set up the tripod so I set the camera on a rock to make the exposure. When I pulled the film, I was unaware that the shutter hadn’t closed completely, resulting in light streaks.

Pinhole Photo: Manzanar Air Strip

March 5th, 2008 by laura | No Comments | Filed in Laura Campbell Fine Art

Incredible wind! Last night we woke up to howling winds at midnight and we woke up every hour after that. Bodie slept through it all. The winds picked up in the morning and continued on throughout the day.

This photo was made with a pinhole camera on the Manzanar air strip. The air strip is located across the highway from the site of Manzanar Internment Camp.
